 Using Diigo

Before this course, I have never used the Diigo platform. However, after using it, I enjoyed how easy it was to see what others posted. I especially enjoyed how each post popped up in real time, which allowed me to feel engaged with the conversation we were having. I think this kind of website would be a very helpful tool for teachers in the classroom and while planning with their colleagues, because you can share information so quickly and easily.

Blogging

So far, I have really enjoyed blogging! It's something I've never done before, but I would consider doing it again for a different subject, like one of my hobbies or interests. I like how there is a huge amount of customization when it comes to your blog. You can write whatever you want and make it aesthetically how you like. I do not like, however, how you cannot really control who sees your blog, as it is open to the public. There may be ways to control who sees your blog depending on what platform you use, however. I have learned during the blogging process that it's sometimes very beneficial to connect with your classmates and instructors. I have also learned that I enjoy seeing other people's thoughts on the subjects we're learning in class.

Web 2.0 Tools

A tool that we haven't discussed, but that I will highly consider using for class instruction, is Quizizz. It's a platform that allows you to create interactive quiz games that you can use to review material with a group of people. I had several teachers that used it in high school, and it was beneficial when reviewing for tests. I didn't like when teachers replaced instruction with it, because I felt like I wasn't truly learning, but when used occasionally it can be helpful for refreshing information in a student's mind. I also think that creating your own quizzes rather than using a random one found on the platform is the best thing to do, since you know exactly what information is on the game. 1. Hey Anna! I enjoyed your imput on this week, especially with Diigo. The resource you shared, Quizizz sounds like it can be great for a quick review game in class but defiently not as a replacement for in class engagment. That is such an important aspect for us future educators to remember!

Hope you have a great week
